Born in Australia with a Ukrainian background, music and the arts were a normal part of family life for Shania growing up.  She began writing original music at age 12, studying music and majoring in composition at La Trobe university and also studied briefly at the Australian Institute of music.  Shania released a CD of classical piano music in 2002 which received airplay on SBS and ABC classic FM nationally, as well as articles in Herald sun online and The Age more recently. She is a full writer member of APRA. She launched  a pop song Getaway about domestic violence at Federation Square.  She intends to use the song and profits from sales for the prevention of domestic/family violence and often volunteers her time.  Shania writes many folk/pop/spiritual songs and is a healer/medium/psychic.  You can find many of her songs for sale on band camp.
